Summerfields Primary School
Summerfields Primary School is maintained by the Isle of Wight Council, providing enducation for girls and boys between the ages of 4+ and 9+. The school is housed in a bright and airy building, opened in 1974, containing class bases with shared practical areas, cloakrooms and toilets. We have a large, light hall, well equipped for PE, and a library and resources area. We also have a Foundation unit housing Reception and Squirrels Pre-School.
We also have a large playing field planted with various trees which provide shade from the summer sun (above).
The school has a clear idea of its vision and values and this is set out in the School Prospectus.
We have good relationships with the parents, demonstrated in the work of the Friends of Summerfields School who organise a full programme of social and fund-raising events. We also encourage effective links with the community through our links with the local churches, community use of our premises, etc..
